Tanner Rice is our guest for this podcast. At 19, Tanner was promoted to black belt under Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles, who became known as the first American born athlete to be promoted by the respected Alliance coach. In 2012 Tanner won the IBJJF world title, being at the time the youngest US native to achieve this deed. Tanner has fought some of the biggest names in Jiu Jitsu and beating people such as“Megaton” Dias and “Tanquinho” Mendes cementing his name as one of the most talented athletes in his division. We talk about opening his gym during the covid lockdown, sleeping in the gym during the riots, his coaching principles and everything else in between.
